Wallsee – A man saved himself from a burning sports boat in Wallsee (Amstetten district) by jumping into the Danube late on Wednesday afternoon. The owner was able to swim to shore himself. The flames were extinguished from a fire boat using water cannons, the district command reported in a broadcast. In coordination with shipping authorities, the Danube was briefly closed to shipping traffic. The boat was wrecked and towed to Ardagger.
