World Cup: Brazil can face England and Argentina until the final – 06/27/2026 – Sport

Brazil’s path to the final could involve clashes against England and Argentina in the quarter-finals and semi-finals, respectively, if everyone confirms their favoritism. The three teams qualified as leaders of their groups in the first phase.

Before that, the Brazilian team (first in Group C) faces Japan (second in Group F), this Monday (29), at 2pm, in the round of 32. If it advances, its opponent in the round of 16 will be the victorious team between Norway and Ivory Coast, who will play on Tuesday (3), also at 2pm.

In the same group, Argentina (leader of Group J) debuts in the knockout phase against Cape Verde (second in Group H) on Friday (2), at 7 pm, and then faces whoever wins between Egypt and Australia in the round of 16.

The path to the decision also includes a meeting in the quarterfinals with the first place in Group K, defined between Portugal and Colombia, who would play for the lead after the conclusion of this text.

England, which beat Panama this Saturday (27) to finish as leader of Group L, has as its first opponent in the knockout stage one of the eight best third-placed teams, the definition of which will be determined by the end of the group stage, still on Saturday.

The match is scheduled for Wednesday (1st), at 1pm.

The clashes involving the third-placed teams were based on a list of previous combinations made by FIFA (International Football Federation) which disregarded duels between teams from the same group.

On the other side of the bracket are the teams from Germany, France, Holland, Croatia and Spain, who will only meet Brazil in a possible decision, scheduled for July 19th, in New Jersey.
