The Russian Ministry of Defense, cited by Russian news agencies, reported that 124 Ukrainian drones were shot down over Russian regions during a period that extended from 8 am to 8 pm (local time).
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin released a long series of statements about the interception of Ukrainian drones heading to the capital. An informal count by Russian news agencies put the number at 21 during the day.
In Ukraine, the governor of the region southeast of Dnipropetrovsk, Oleksandr Ganzha, said a combined total of more than 40 drone strikes and artillery fire killed one person and injured another near Nikopol.
The city, located on the opposite bank of the Dnipro River from the Russian-controlled Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, is a frequent target of Russian forces.
