“Cancer doesn’t just affect the body. It changes the way you think and feel, and deeply influences every aspect of life. I know this from firsthand experience and I know that the journey during and after treatment requires much more than just medications,” Kate Middleton continues in the post. The Princess of Wales was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of 2024, although it was not until March when she shared it with the world. Two years later, neither she nor the palace have made public what the cancer she was suffering from was.
“I have committed to the National Three Summits Challenge, not just as a physical challenge, but as an opportunity to explore life beyond diagnosis and to contribute to the community. The Royal Marsden is a very meaningful place for me, whose care and experience transforms the lives of many people”, has written. It was in that hospital center where she received treatment and where, after a visit as a thank you in January 2025, she confirmed her role as patron.
“Through this challenge, I want to raise awareness about the profound impact of serious illness and the importance of comprehensive health care. Every person is different, and ensuring a whole-person approach to care allows those living with cancer to face the deeply personal challenge of diagnosis. Holistic therapies complement clinical protocols and support patients’ ability to maintain their well-being, resilience and quality of life during an exceptionally difficult time,” he says.

“This challenge will support , helping to transform access to and understanding of comprehensive care, improving the recovery and healing of patients across the UK. Healing, whether personal or collective, is not just about fixing what is wrong. It is about finding balance in the way we live (…) Courage is not just about moving forward. It is about knowing how to stay grounded, connected and present, no matter the terrain or landscape we are traveling through.”
The funds will be used to promote cancer patient care programs and investigate how complementary treatments are of great help: psychological and spiritual support, physical activity, nutrition, complementary therapies.
