“Everyone can do sport”: a portrait of Special Olympics athletes

Those were hot five days in Vienna – of all days when the ninth edition of the Special Olympics Summer Games took place. Competitions in some (Oztdoor) disciplines had to be canceled or moved indoors. At the closing ceremony on Monday in the Sport Arena Vienna, a world record attempt was to take place. Special Olympics ambassador Philipp Jelinek called on around 3,000 athletes, trainers, volunteers and the audience for the largest inclusive training session of all time. The STANDARD introduces participants every day. The portraits and photos were provided by Special Olympics.
