The vacation turned into a bloody drama in a second: The tourist is in critical condition after the accident at the waterfalls!

A British tourist is fighting for her life in hospital after she was hit by a rock that came loose from a famous waterfall in Greece. A 50-year-old woman suffered a serious head injury at Nydri Falls on the island of Lefkada, where a piece of rock broke off and fell directly on her. She was rescued from the hard-to-reach and steep rocky cliff by firefighters who carried her to safety on a stretcher. According to local reports, the woman was then rushed to the hospital, where she underwent surgery and was connected to pulmonary ventilation, the portal said.

The vacationer is said to be in a critical condition and plans are being made to transfer her to a specialized trauma center in Athens. Several other tourists who were at the iconic site at the time suffered minor injuries from smaller falling rocks. For now, it remains unclear whether the incident was the result of a natural landslide or whether visitors ignored warning signs.

Nydri waterfalls are among the most famous waterfalls in Greece. They are approximately 12 meters high and known for their lush green surroundings and lagoon in the canyon. This popular and beautiful place attracts thousands of visitors every summer. It can be reached by a short but difficult hiking trail through a narrow gorge, which is characterized by rough and uneven paths.
