There is a lot of talk about AI assistants when shopping, which are intended to make the tedious search in overcrowded online catalogs easier. But there is still a long way to go before that actually happens. And whether the Austrians even want that is a different piece of paper. As a study by the Institute for Retail Management at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland shows, only 15 percent of people in German-speaking countries have actually used AI in the purchasing process. Only five percent of those surveyed have already completely handed over individual purchases to the AI assistant.
