Whether in the middle of Stephansplatz or far out in Simmering, anyone who stays in a Viennese hotel will have to pay a little more in the future. From Wednesday the local tax in the federal capital will rise. Given the prices elsewhere in the city, most people probably haven’t noticed it until now. In the future, however, the tax burden for a hotel stay will be 2.5 times higher.
