Three-year-old boy is rescued alive six days after earthquakes in Venezuela

A three-year-old boy was rescued alive last Tuesday, after having remained for almost six days under the rubble of a building that collapsed following the strong earthquakes that hit Venezuela.

The rescue took place in the Los Corales area, in the state of La Guaira, the region most affected by the earthquakes. The child was found after around 140 hours, in an operation carried out by Jordanian search and rescue teams.

This is the second rescue of a child alive in just two days. On Monday, another child was also pulled from the rubble in the same region.

Search operations continue in various areas of Venezuela, with the support of more than 3,300 operatives from 27 countries, coordinated by the United Nations, in the hope of finding more survivors.
