The Rio team beat Atlético-MG again, which will receive R$ 31.5 million for runners-up
This Sunday (10.nov.2024) Flamengo won the Copa do Brasil title by defeating Atlético-MG 1-0 in Belo Horizonte. The Rio team had already beaten the Minas Gerais team in the first leg of the final, 3-1.
It is Flamengo’s 5th title in the Copa do Brasil. With the victory, the red-and-black club also wins a cash prize of R$73.5 million and classification for the 2025 Libertadores. Atlético-MG will receive R$31.5 million for the runner-up position.
Flamengo and Atlético-MG return to the field now on Wednesday (Nov 13). The two teams face each other in Rio, at 8 pm, in a match valid for the 33rd round of the 2024 Brazilian Championship.
Flamengo is 5th in the Brasileirão, and Atlético-MG is 11th.
