A great hope for the fans, Hulk lamented Atlético-MG’s runner-up to Flamengo in the Copa do Brasil, after the 1-0 defeat at Arena MRV, this Sunday (10). The striker did not hide his sadness over the setback, but highlighted the need to raise his head with an eye on the Copa Libertadores final.
The number 7 reported that, at Maracanã, it was crucial for Galo not to win the title. Hulk considered that this has to serve as a lesson for the black and white team.
“Of course, the first game weighed a lot. Final with two games, we have to be smarter, not lose the way we did. It ended up being very difficult. The fans had a wonderful party, the players gave their lives in there, everyone was exhausted. Unfortunately, it was not the result we expected. It remains as a learning experience”, analyzed the veteran.
Hulk is already keeping an eye on Atlético-MG’s next commitments. The captain wants the team to evolve and have better results in the next games of the Brazilian Championship and in the , against Botafogo, on November 30th.
“Take into consideration that we have seven more games in the Brasileiros and we have the big game this year, the Copa Libertadores final. Our dream, our focus, we need to improve a lot, especially some of our behaviors for us to win this title”, he projected.
Defeat in the first final at Arena MRV
With runner-up to Flamengo, Galo lost the opportunity to lift its first cup at Arena MRV. Hulk did not hide his sadness at the wasted opportunity.
“Without a doubt. In our house, we want to celebrate. Start writing beautiful stories here, with many achievements. Unfortunately, in the first opportunity to win the title at home, we failed. It’s not always the way we want. Lack of dedication is not. We work really hard to make our fans’ dreams come true and ours, as we do dream of winning titles. Writing our name more and more in the club’s history, especially because titles are what leave us recognized for the rest of our lives. We still have many things to achieve. We have to work and continue to keep our feet on the ground to make the most of opportunities”
