The tradition of preaching the arrival of spring has become an inspiration to create an extraordinary story. “Wystak Day”, directed by Harold Ramis, tells the story of a staring at himself and the arrogant weather presenter, Phil Connors (the convergence of names is not accidental), which is once again sent to Punxsutawney to report the celebration of a marmot of the marmot. Phil (Bill Murray) intends to shoot the material and return to his daily activities, but the snowstorm forces him to stay in the town overnight. To his surprise, he discovers the next morning that he is again February 2, and he got stuck in the time loop, experiencing the same endless day. Initially frustrated and helpless, over time it begins to discover the deeper meaning of life. He is gradually changing, finds joy in experiencing everyday moments and falls in love with his producer Rita (Andie MacDowell). Although the film at first glance seems to be a light comedy, it hides an important message about change, reflection on your life and searching for happiness. Danny Rubin and Harold Ramis were responsible for the script of the film, and the fantastic effects of their work were awarded with the prestigious BAFTA award for the best original script. “Wystak Day” not only revolutionized the species of romantic comedies, but also became one of the most recognizable films of the 90s. The success of the film is largely due to unforgettable acting creations. Bill Murray perfectly reflects the transformation of his character, initially cynical, and then sensitive and full of kindness. This role is considered one of the most important and best in the actor’s achievements. Today, it is difficult to imagine someone else in this role, although the casting of Tom Hanks or Michael Keaton was initially considered. Andie MacDowell is great to partner to Murray, he adds heat and charm to the film. It was the role of Rita that made her become the star of the romantic comedy of the 90s. “Wystak Day” will be available on television, on the Stopklatka channel, February 2 at 13:00.
