The Spanish Championship games between Valencia and Real Madrid and between Villarreal and Rayo Vallecano, scheduled for this weekend, were postponed this Thursday (31) at the request of LaLiga to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) due to the floods that devastated the Valencia region.
LaLiga, the entity that organizes the competition, also reported the postponement of three second division games that were supposed to be held in the areas affected by the floods, which left at least 95 dead in the east of the country: Castellón x Ferrol, Eldense x Huesca and Levante x Malaga.
The federation had already postponed the Valencia and Levante games this week for the Copa del Rey, a competition organized by the RFEF itself. LaLiga has asked affected clubs to look for new dates.
Real Madrid, the only one of the four teams competing in a European competition this season, is second in the Spanish Championship, behind Barcelona, and Valencia is bottom.
Floods in the Valencia region, in eastern Spain, left at least 158 people dead, and several people are missing. The Spanish government decreed three days of mourning starting this Thursday.
Before the start of the other matches in the 12th round, a minute of silence will be observed.
