The Federal Police ordered the opening of an investigation at the São Paulo superintendence to investigate the case of the murder of the businessman suspected of links with the PCC at Guarulhos Airport, last Friday (8). The information is from G1.

According to the portal, the decision was taken jointly between members of the Federal Government and the Ministry of Justice. The assessment is that the alleged involvement of criminal factions, as well as public agents, demands a federal investigation into the matter. The fact that the murder took place at the country’s largest airport also contributes.

The case is being investigated by the São Paulo Civil Police. The Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP) seized the cell phones of the police officers who were escorting businessman Antônio Vinicius Lopes Gritzbach.

In a statement, the state Public Security Secretariat confirmed the removal of three active PMs, who were part of the businessman’s security team. They must stay away until the end of the investigation.

Gritzbach’s girlfriend has already given statements to investigators and also had her cell phone seized for forensic examination by the Civil Police. According to information already gathered, the initial suspicion is that the businessman was monitored by the killers, who had information about the flight’s expected arrival time at the airport.

Antônio Vinicius Lopes Gritzbach was even investigated for a PCC money laundering scheme, before signing a plea bargain agreement with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, to provide information on the activities and operations of organized crime.
