The president-elect of the , , chose Republican federal congresswoman Elise Stefanik to serve as the country’s ambassador to the (UN), he said in a statement shared with the Reuters this Monday (11).
“I am honored to nominate Representative Elise Stefanik to serve in my Cabinet as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Elise is an incredibly strong, tough and intelligent fighter for America First,” Trump said, referring to one of her slogans, which translates as “America First.”
Stefanik, a federal representative from the state of New York and president of the Republican Conference of the House of Representatives, has been a strong ally of Trump.

She could not immediately be reached for comment.
Trump said on Saturday that the former Republican presidential candidate and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will not be invited to join his administration.
Haley served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations during part of Trump’s first term and endorsed him for president despite harshly criticizing him when he ran against him in the party’s primary.

Trump is meeting with potential candidates to serve in his administration ahead of his inauguration as president on January 20.
A Reuters reported on Friday (8) that Trump met with the prominent investor, who is a possible candidate for US Treasury Secretary.
