Level 1 ice warnings valid in Slovakia until Wednesday morning. At the same time, the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) extended the validity of the first-level fog warnings for the entire territory of the country. SHMÚ informed about it on its website.

According to the constitution, warnings of the first degree of frost apply for the entire Košice and Prešovský regions and for most districts of the Banskobystrické region. “Ice formation represents a potential danger for human activities (transportation, movement of people, infrastructure – various types of lines). The occurrence of ice is common at the given time of year and area, but it can cause minor damage,” meteorologists said.

Ice warnings are tentatively valid until Wednesday 8:00 a.m. The SHMÚ also extended the validity of first-level fog warnings throughout the territory of Slovakia. For the time being, you should watch out for reduced visibility until 2:00 p.m.
