An apartment in an old building has many advantages: There is space here because the room heights and floor plans are more generous than in a new building, while the rents are capped and therefore cheaper. But the old building also has its downsides: in many apartment buildings the gas boilers are still hanging in the apartments. In addition, people heat out through drafty windows because the houses are not well insulated.
