The biggest fan base in Brazil remains the same: Flamengo. With the new Datafolha census that assessed the size of the country’s fans, the top 3 are made up of red and black, followed by Corinthians and Palmeiras.

Flamengo has 19% of Brazil’s fans, compared to the 21% it achieved last year. Corinthians, in second place, has 14% preference, followed by 7% for Palmeiras and 6% for São Paulo.

Grêmio and Vasco come just below, with 4% each, followed by Santos, Cruzeiro and Internacional, at 3%. With 2%, there are Bahia, Botafogo, Atlético-MG and Fluminense.

What draws the most attention in the ranking is the 1%, allocated to Vitória and the Brazilian team, which loses to so many teams in the popular vote.

The survey is carried out with 2,004 Brazilians over the age of 16, and was carried out between November 5th and 7th in 113 cities around the country. The data margin of error is plus or minus 2%, which does not affect the first position.

In terms of region, Flamengo is preferred in the North, Northeast and Central-West, with first place alone in the North and Central-West, with 29% against Corinthians’ 11%. In the Northeast, 25% are Flamengo fans, with 8% from Corinthians.

In the Southeast, Corinthians wins, with 20% against Flamengo’s 15%, and in the South, Flamengo ties with Corinthians in third place, behind Grêmio and Internacional.
