GP do Catar de F1: por que Verstappen foi penalizado e perdeu a pole position? image

Qualifying practice for the Qatar F1 GP was held this Saturday (11/30) and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen achieved pole position, with a time of 1:20.520. However, the four-time champion was penalized and lost first place on the grid.

After analysis, the stewards judged that Verstappen, being slow on the track, hindered George Russell’s lap, who inherited pole from the Dutchman and will start first this Sunday. Third place went to Lando Norris, from McLaren.

The Qatar GP will be this Sunday (01/12), at 1pm (Brasília time). With the Drivers’ World Championship concluded, with Max Verstappen, from Red Bull, confirming his fourth Formula 1 championship in advance last Sunday (24/11), the dispute is now for the Constructors’ World Championship and other positions in the drivers’ race.

Also on Saturday (30/11), F1 held the sprint race, which ended with victory for Oscar Piastri and second place for Lando Norris, both from McLaren. Third place went to George Russell, from Mercedes. The result widened McLaren’s gap to Ferrari at the top of the Constructors’ World Championship.
