Doha – The fronts between Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen and Mercedes star George Russell have hardened. “It’s very disappointing. I’ve lost all respect,” said the Red Bull driver after his victory at the Qatar Grand Prix. The trigger was Russell’s demand for a penalty in qualifying because he felt hindered by Verstappen on a warm-up lap. The race stewards put Verstappen back in second place, Russell inherited pole.
