The State Secretariat for Penitentiary Administration (Seap) confirmed this Tuesday (3) the identity of the man during a flight from São Paulo to Belém.

Felippe Rodrigues Batista is an entrepreneur in the clothing and accessories retail sector. THE CNN Attempts to contact the suspect’s defense.

On social media, the criminal announces that he has a store in the municipality of Cametá, northeastern Pará, a distance of around 660 km from Belém.

According to Federal Police investigations, the crime occurred during a conversation that the suspect started with the victim who was sitting next to him on the plane ride. The teenager was accompanied by his parents, but in separate chairs, which would have facilitated the criminal’s action.

The PF reported that the teenager left his seat during the flight and told his father, who started an argument inside the plane. The businessman had to be placed inside the bathroom so that other passengers would not try to attack him.

In a statement, the airline Azul informed that it contacted the Federal Police to disembark the passenger and investigate undisciplined behavior during flight AD6074. According to the company, a protocol was followed by the crew, who provided assistance to other customers.

“Azul remains at the disposal of the authorities and reinforces that it repudiates any manifestation or inappropriate behavior that causes embarrassment to its customers and crew”, he highlighted.

Because he was a minor, the case was not treated as sexual harassment, but rather as rape of a vulnerable person. The suspect was caught in the act and taken to the prison system. Seap reported that he is in custody and available to justice.
