Brian Thompson was hit in midtown Manhattan; Shooter remains at large and police offer $10,000 reward for information
UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson, 50, was shot on Wednesday morning (Dec 4, 2024) near a hotel in downtown Manhattan, in the United States. The executive of the largest health insurer in the US was hit after leaving the New York Hilton Midtown, the hotel where he was staying.
The CEO’s shooter remains at large and the police a $10,000 reward for information about him.

After committing the crime, the shooter fled on a bicycle and was last seen in Central Park. The research highlighted that this is not just a case of violence, but something “premeditated”.
The New York Police Department released the shooter’s face. The suspect’s name, age or other information is not yet known.

The murder motive is also unknown. “Based on the evidence we have so far, it appears the victim was specifically targeted, but we don’t know why.”Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch told .
Investigators on the case believe the weapon used in the crime is a B&T Station SIX pistol. Gun dealers in Connecticut are being sought by authorities to find out the origin of the equipment used. The strategy is being used because in the state it is relatively simpler to buy a gun than in New York City.
