Inside the mansion of Bashar Al Assad, deposed president of Syria

After taking Damascus, the rebels who deposed Bashar Al Assad’s regime in Syria invaded and looted the official presidential residence.

The BBC – which is the only Western news organization with reporters inside the capital – recorded footage of the mansion where Assad and his family lived during the rebel invasion.

Before the fall of Damascus, the country’s now former president fled to Russia with his family, where he is expected to receive asylum, according to Russian state media.
