A new sport allows us to do two activities at the same time without realizing it — and it’s becoming increasingly popular in Spain: talking on the phone while walking.
We live under the sign of stress and it is increasingly important to try to optimize our daily lives to be able to reconcile the countless activities that accumulate in our diary or calendar.
This makes us “victims of multitasking” and leads us to end the day with our tongue hanging out and without energy, says .
Among the multitasking of our daily lives, there is one that we hardly give importance to and that it can even be relaxingwhich is becoming increasingly popular among our Spanish neighbors, because it allows us kill two birds with one stonewithout us realizing it.
It’s a easy way to move the skeleton and to mitigate the effects of a sedentary lifestyle: talking on the phone while doing something physical.
And at a time when everything is quantified and classified, the new practice, which seems to be very beneficial, has already been named: it is called phonning — that is, nothing more than talking on the phone while walking.
It seems counter-intuitive, but, says El Confidencial, 63.6% of Spaniards have already adopted this modality — both unconsciously, perhaps to kill boredom, and consciously, with the firm intention of finding extra time for physical exercise, which is sometimes left aside.
This data is corroborated by a study conducted by the telecommunications company, which concluded that 31 million Spaniards regularly practice some type of phonningtaking advantage of their walks to catch up with family and friends.
According to the study, the practice is carried out more regularly and intensely in months with more favorable weatherand the phonners run on average up to 181 km per year on cell phone.
“Walking while we talk not only allows us to take care of our health naturally and almost without realizing it, but improves our mood and allows us to make better use of our conversation time”, explains Teresa RiveraBrand and Communications Director at Finetwork.
In fact, the phonning It’s not exactly new, we’ve been doing it for a long time. It just didn’t have a name… and we didn’t know that After all, it was a good idea to do so..
