Former striker for São Paulo and the Brazilian team will compete for a place in the Chamber for the MDB with a focus on encouraging sport and social projects
Former player Luis Fabiano, an idol of São Paulo, announced on Friday (22) his pre-candidacy for federal deputy by the state of São Paulo. In a video published on his social networks, the former athlete stated that he “accepted the call” to join the electoral dispute and work in Brasília.
Affiliated to the Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB), the former striker bases his political platform on encouraging grassroots sportsalready preventative health and in digital inclusion opportunities for young people. In the announcement, the former athlete declared that his motivation is to avoid wasting the potential of São Paulo’s youth and cities.
“I’m not a career politician, I’m a director. I want to use my story to really open doors”, said the former player in the video. He highlighted that his experience in the fields, marked by “grit and heart”, will be taken to the new challenge in public life.
