The… Trump familism
Guilfoyle’s nomination must be approved by the Senate following a hearing in the Committee on International Relations.
According to information from the CNN television network, Donald Trump Jr. and Guilfoyle were engaged on 12/31/20 and recently separated. He is not the first person in Donald Trump’s family or circle of friends to be assigned a position of responsibility.
In November, Trump will take over as the next US ambassador to France. He also named Mashad Boulos, the father-in-law of his youngest daughter Tiffany Trump, adviser to the presidency on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs.
Yesterday 10/12 he named his personal friend Tom Barak, next ambassador to Turkey. Barak was indicted in 2021 for undeclared lobbying – representing special interests – for the benefit of the United Arab Emirates, but was acquitted in 2022.

Why didn’t Gas Bilirakis take the position
Sources in the American capital confirmed that initially there was a willingness to place MP Gus Bilirakis in the position of the new ambassador in Athens, as he enjoys the absolute trust of Trump’s inner circle and was considered extremely qualified for the specific position.
However, they clarified that this was not possible due to the thin majority that the Republicans have in the House of Representatives. Given this, it was not considered prudent to make a move that could potentially jeopardize the legislative agenda of the new government. Nevertheless, they point out that Mr. Bilirakis will continue to play a special role as a hotline to the “Florida team” that includes new White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and national security adviser Mike Waltz.
The former expatriate candidate for senator in Maryland Chrysovalantis Kefalas expressed his satisfaction with the appointment of Ms. Guilfoyle, who as a presenter on Fox News had stood out and spoke warmly of his candidacy.
“As a Greek-American, the importance of our ties as peoples and as countries with shared values and shared dreams is especially important. When I was running for the US Senate, Kimberly Guilfoyle expressed interest in my candidacy. Today I see the opportunity in front of her to strengthen Greek-American relations and help protect, preserve and perpetuate the values, traditions and aspirations that can build a better future for all of us”, emphasized Mr. head
