What did we order most often? Pyszne.pl summarizes 2024

Poles’ favorite flavors

Italian, Polish and Middle Eastern cuisine are the three most frequently chosen options on Pyszne.pl in 2024. The latter has overtaken American cuisine in the popularity ranking, which closed the podium a year ago. Most often, Pyszne.pl couriers delivered Middle Eastern kebab, Italian pizza and American cheeseburger to our tables. This year’s record holder Pyszne.pl is a big fan of the first dish, having placed an impressive number of 865 orders within 12 months. Most often, he chose thin-crust kebab.

French fries remain the most popular addition to ordered dishes, but in 2024, the thicker and crispier ones, i.e. steak fries, have become particularly fashionable.

From Asia straight to Polish tables

There is no shortage of sushi fans in Poland, and have been for years. One Thursday evening in Sopot, the Pyszne.pl courier delivered sets worth a total of PLN 6,481 – the record for the highest order value in the entire year was broken! The popularity of this dish is also proven by the results of the Pyszne.pl Awards 2023 plebiscite, as the Restaurant of the Year was Susharnia in Łódź. Our hearts also beat faster thanks to another Japanese specialty. Enveloping, full of deep flavors and aromas, beef ramen is the dish that recorded the largest increase in the number of orders year on year.

We also reached for culinary inspiration from another Asian country – South Korea. Bulgogi, the famous Korean grilled meat, has become fashionable. We also loved the smash burgers. Crispy cutlets prepared by flattening the meat on a hot plate allowed us to rediscover the classic.

Simplicity in the morning and dinner just like mom’s

Our favorite delivered breakfast was toast with eggs and bacon, a simple but filling option. We also trusted tradition and proven solutions at lunch time. Most often we ordered pork chop and broth. This is still a perfect set for Poles, and we like to choose home-made flavors also for delivery.

Sweet journeys – local and more distant

After dinner, it’s time for dessert. The biggest sweet tooth lives in Lower Silesia. During the year, he ordered as many as 508 desserts. What would he recommend the most? Pancakes with cheese, which appeared on his plate as many as 72 times.

From the bakery, we most liked to order donuts, cream cakes and pastel de nata – once again, the quintessence of Polishness with a bit of foreign inspiration reigned supreme. We love traditional, uncomplicated classics. Pastel de nata, a Portuguese cake with custard filling, fits perfectly in this company.

Coffee to go? Please!

When it comes to delivery, we still choose carbonated drinks to complement our meals. The number of coffee orders is also growing – from the barista, directly to home or office. Our cups are dominated by milk options: cappuccino and flat white. Bubble tea is also gaining popularity for delivery. Colorful tea with tapioca balls is a delicacy that we increasingly enjoy at home.

When did we have the biggest appetite?

The largest number of orders on Pyszne.pl were placed during the Poland-Netherlands match during Euro 2024, followed by the Oscars evening. These are the days when great emotions – from football to cinema – whetted our appetites the most. Women’s Day also turned out to be an important opportunity to order delicious food – it looks like you can celebrate it not only with flowers, but also with your favorite dishes.

Pyszne.pl Trend Report

Even more tasty curiosities will be included in the upcoming Pyszne.pl Trend Report. The publication will contain not only data, but also in-depth analyzes of the lifestyle of Poles and their approach to food. What inspires us to create new dishes? How do we use different products in our diets? And how do our meal times change?

– The Pyszne.pl Trends Report is an analysis of millions of orders from all over the country, providing a unique insight into the gastronomic preferences of Poles and allowing us to spot emerging trends. We enrich the data with international and local research and expert comments to provide the most interesting conclusions. Although we still focus mainly on new trends in the area of food, this year’s edition also covers issues related to new directions of development of our website, i.e. the convenience trend. Poles are increasingly ordering groceries via Pyszne.pl, and in the near future they will also order cosmetics, flowers and even small electronics. – comments Arkadiusz Krupicz, managing director and co-founder of Pyszne.pl.
