Elon Musk satellites spotted in Portugal (again)

On Monday, Starlink satellites flew at a lower altitude than usual, and once again dotted the Portuguese skies with bright lights.

The satellites of the American company Starlink, owned by Elon Musk, were spotted this Monday night in Portugal.

There were several on social media that showed images of these objects flying over the skies, forming a kind of shiny “traces”.

The satellites are nicknamed “Starlink constellations“, since they are launched as a group (and that is why they are so visible). In total, there are around 6800, and their objective is to creation of a global Internet network high speed and low latency.

As indicated by , although these objects are closer than “normal” satellites, there is no risk of them interfering with airspace, since Commercial planes fly at about 12 kilometers of altitude and satellites at 500. According to , these satellites were seen essentially in the north of the country.

In recent years, recalls the newspaper, Starlink has had a prominent role in the Ukraine waras it is used by the Ukrainian defense forces to connect to the Internet.
