Bolsonaro’s former minister is the target of the investigation into the alleged coup d’état attempt; arrest took place in Rio and he will be in Army custody
This Saturday (14), the arrested former Minister of Defense and former deputy of Jair Bolsonaro on the 2022 ticket. The PF operation also searches the former minister’s house. The preventive arrest and search and seizure warrants were issued by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the STF.
The arrest took place in Rio de Janeiro, in Copacabana, and for now he will be in Army custody. According to the PF, two search and seizure warrants and a precautionary measure are being executed against “individuals who would be hindering the free production of evidence”. The investigation points to Braga Netto as head of the group that planned military intervention. He would have approved and financed the supposed plan to kill President Lula (PT), Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) and Minister Moraes. The general is part of the list of 37 indicted by the PF.
