More than two months after the murder of young Yuri de Melo Araújo, aged 28, the Acre Civil Police (PCAC), through the Homicide and Personal Protection Police Station (DHPP), arrested one of the suspects of committing the crime, on Monday night (16).
The murder took place on October 4th, on Rua Santa Maria, in the Carandá neighborhood, Baixada da Sobral, in Rio Branco. Yuri was shot while at home with his family. Five armed criminals invaded the residence, captured the members and shot the victim, who tried to run to the bathroom of the house, but could not resist and died after the shots. One of the shots hit the young man in the chest.

The criminal arrested this Monday, in the Sobral region, was identified by the initials RRB. He was on the run and “was captured after an intelligence action that involved significant efforts by specialized investigators”, is what the Civil Police press office says.
During Yuri’s execution, an elderly woman had a gun pointed at her head, increasing the severity and cruelty of the act.
“The operation counted on the collaboration and dedication of the researchers, who did their utmost to complete the work successfully”, detailed the DHPP chief delegate, Alcino Ferreira Júnior.
The suspect was sent to the prison system and will be available to justice.
