Grêmio would be eyeing the signing of defender Zaid Romero, currently at Club Brugge. According to journalist Diego Torbes Bagé, the defender would be part of the Rio Grande do Sul team’s planning for the 2025 season.
The idea would be to incorporate young players, but who already had experience focused on international football on their resume. Values for negotiation have not yet been discussed.
Who is Zaid Romero, a player in Grêmio’s sights?
Argentinean, Zaid Romero is 25 years old and plays as a defender in Europe. The player has some characteristics that caught the attention of Grêmio. Among them, good aerial play, technical qualities and security in defense.
At Brugge, he arrived in September this year and has a contract until 2028. Revealed by Godoy Cruz, he had spells at teams such as Villa Dálmine, LDU and Estudiantes.
Zaid Romero’s trip to Europe was agreed for 6 million euros, approximately R$33.3 million at the time, with Estudiantes being his last South American trip.
