Six bedrooms, tennis court and golf course: discover the mansion that was Senna’s favorite

Ayrton Senna lived the last three years of his life in a mansion in the Algarve region, in Portugal. It was there, in fact, that Adriane Galisteu received the news of the pilot’s death, on May 1, 2004. With the success of the series about the three-time Formula 1 world champion, on Netflix, many fans were curious to know what the Brazilian was like off the slopes.

According to Senna’s neighbors, he lived in peace, with discretion. He enjoyed spending time in the gardens, near the pool, alongside his Portuguese dog, Kinda. The information is from Extra.

The pilot’s mansion was built with six bedrooms and seven bathrooms on a 10,500 m² plot of land, including gardens, a tennis court and a private golf course. The property was put up for sale in 2011 for around 10 million euros (R$70 million, at today’s prices). After four years without buyers, it was sold to a German family.

The neighborhood has the feel of a high-luxury gated condominium and was built facing Quinta do Lago beach. The place is in the middle of a protected area, the Ria Formosa Natural Park, but is in a region open to tourists from all over the world. There are, in one space, golf courses, mansions, five-star hotels, trails to explore the natural park and luxurious restaurants.

There is an avenue named after Ayrton Senna – but, curiously, the three-time champion’s mansion was on another street, Sado, number 30/31, house 14. Nowadays, however, there is no longer any reference to the driver at the residence. According to the Uol website, there is just a white wall with a gate.
