Bolsonaro senator Cleitinho (Republicanos-MG) defended this Tuesday (17) the decision of the minister of the (Supreme Federal Court) to maintain restrictions on payments for parliamentary amendments, an issue subject to disagreements between Congress and the court.

“What we have to do with these amendments that are paid for is to bring transparency to the population, not to let these scoundrels who come here roam the corridors of Brasília, this bunch of lobbyists, vagabonds, embezzling public money, bothering here. Let it be investigated, let the Federal Police investigate everything”, he added.

Parliamentary amendments are funds used by deputies and senators to send money for works and projects in their electoral bases, increasing their political capital. Minister Flávio Dino.

In his speech, Cleitinho also suggested the creation of a CPMI (Joint Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry) to investigate the use of amendments by parliamentarians.

“I would like to suggest a CPMI of parliamentary amendments, I sign it all the time. Instead of doing a CPI on Bets, on manipulating bets, let’s do a CPI here on our own. My hand is clean, I’ve never played tricks, trickery, cowardice with No amendment, for me this is one of the most horrible things about politics, it’s a situation like this, you take public money, which belongs to the people and give it back to the people and still embezzle it.”
