Suspect arrested for starting fire in Hanoi that left 11 dead

According to initial investigations, The fire started after an argument between a man, who confessed to having used gasoline to spread the flames on the ground floor of the premises, and the cafeteria staff, according to the same sources. Eleven people lost their lives in this incident, while seven were injured, according to the official balance.

Police indicated that they will charge the detained suspect with murder.

Deadly fires are common in Vietnam due in large part to corruption by authorities and lax safety standards. In September last year, 56 people died in a fire in an apartment building in Hanoi.
