It seems that the violent incidents for the one who killed her, at noon last Wednesday, on a street of Anopoli, Municipality of Hersonissos, in
At two in the afternoon on Friday, family, friends and fellow villagers will say goodbye to her, shortly after she had returned to her village from dialysis and was getting out of her car. In a heavy atmosphere, her funeral is expected to take place from the Holy Church of the Dormition of the Virgin in Anopolis, at a time when wonder and anger are overflowing for the perpetrator of this heinous and sad act.
Society in Eleftherna, where the 33-year-old lived, is also numb, with most of them declaring that they had no interaction with him, while some had never seen him in the village. It is noteworthy that the Frenchman had twice vandalized Christmas decorations in Ancient Eleftherna. It is noted that the man had been reported for domestic violence, beatings and threats, but was walking around free, citing psychological problems.
Apology time and “Joker”
The 33-year-old is expected to be brought before the Third Investigator of Heraklion to plead guilty, after the deadline he received yesterday, for manslaughter.
In the meantime, his behavior yesterday at the Heraklion Courthouse is appalling, as, while he was in front of the investigator’s office, he started laughing loudly, attempting to imitate “The Joker”, the character of the film of the same name, a mentally disturbed, serial murderer.
According to the local website cretalive.gr, at the moment he was surrounded by police officers and television cameras, he formed a broad smile and, addressing the police officers, asked: “Don’t I look like the Joker?”.
What does he support now?
To the police, however, the defendant has given different versions of the motives that led him to this heinous crime. As he said, he started from Eleftherna in Rethymno where he lived, with the intention of boarding a ship to Heraklion. During the journey, he claimed that he was being watched, he even said that he targeted two cars.
One belonged to the victim, who followed her to Anopoli and when she saw the 36-year-old getting out of her vehicle, he stepped on the gas and ran over her, killing her. The attacker told the police that he killed one of those who pursued him, without giving a logical explanation.
The official position of EL.AS.
Yesterday, it was announced that the 7th Ministry of Health ordered. of Crete for the psychiatric opinion of the 33-year-old, regarding his psychiatric problems and his violent past.
At the same time, the press representative of EL.AS. notes to MEGA that “as many times as he was employed, he was arrested”.
“As many times as this man has occupied the society of Crete in various areas, he has been arrested by the Police and taken to the competent prosecutor’s office. And for incidents of domestic violence and conflicts with citizens, even with police officers, he had at one point resisted a check. He was duly arrested and taken to the public prosecutor,” states Constantia Dimoglidou.
“When a person is flagged, there is a copy of the previous offenses when they are taken to the prosecutor. Colleagues have given affidavits about this man, which they have passed on to the prosecutor, describing what this man was saying when he entered the police service. The police officers are obliged to inform the psychiatrist of the reason and reason for which this person is being taken to the hospital to be examined.”
According to Ms. Dimoglidou:
“This man went delirious, he was talking nonsense to the police, they couldn’t contact him, he couldn’t even identify himself. He mentioned that he is the son of a well-known politician, he mentioned things that were not true, colleagues testify and they took him to the doctor. The police never disclose a patient’s criminal history to the doctor, unless he is asked why he has it.”
“The prosecutor has both the testimony and the doctor’s decision in his hands. (…) There are no convictions for this man. It has been reported. It does not mean that this person has a mental disorder because he has been reported,” he adds.
