This is one of those delicacies that connects generations – Yeast croissants with jam they are delicious, melt in your mouth and everyone loves them. Both older and younger will surely eat them to the last crumb. They are perfect for family gatherings, including holidays. It tastes perfect with coffee and tea.
The recipe is easy to make – so maybe it’s a good opportunity to prepare something together with your children?
To prepare this recipe you will need:
- 500 g of wheat flour type 480,
- 25 g fresh yeast,
- 100 g of butter,
- 1 tablespoon of sugar,
- 2 eggs,
- 180 g of sour cream 18% at room temperature,
- 150 g cherry or strawberry jam,
- 1 egg white for brushing,
- powdered sugar for sprinkling the croissants.
Butter take it out of the fridge and cut it into pieces. Put them in a pot and heat gently.
Crumble the yeast. Sprinkle them with sugar, combine and mix with a fork. Leave for a while. Add the cream and mix gently.
Sift the flour into a separate bowl, add eggs, melted butter and yeast with cream. Start kneading everything with your hands or a mixer with a hook. The dough should become uniform and elastic. If it is very sticky, add flour.
Divide the dough into two parts. Roll each into a thin round cake. Divide into parts to create triangles. Place a teaspoon of jam on the wider part of each triangle. Wrap. Spread the egg white on top of each croissant. Place them on a baking tray lined with paper. Place in a still cold oven. Now turn it on. Preheat to 190 degrees Celsius and bake the croissants for about 15-20 minutes until they rise and turn golden brown.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
