The fairy tale Three Nuts for Cinderella is a hit every Christmas thanks to the unmistakable characters, the portal points out. Next year, 50 years will pass since the creation of this legendary fairy tale. It was not at all cheap at the time of its creation, and the creators tried to save money.
Financial problems should have affected the fairy tale at the very beginning of filming. Especially German creators wanted to save money. In the end, however, they did not succeed, because the budget was increasing every day, the Czech website writes. The first major complication was the ball scene. The decorations designed in Germany were cheap and looked that way. Therefore, the Czechs decided that the whole scene had to be re-filmed to make the ball look royal and grand.
The original budget of 3.5 million crowns (144,618 euros) was increased by half a million during filming. “Even though the investments reached royal heights, they paid off. Cinderella then brought truly fabulous sales. In the first few years alone, she earned more than 8 million crowns (330,588 euros).” said film historian Petr Bednařík for CNN Prima NEWS.
