Israel’s defense minister admitted today that Israel assassinated Hamas leader Ismail Haniya last July in Tehran.
At the same time, Israel Katz directly threatened the leadership of Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen – who are threatening to continue their attacks on Israel – that he will suffer the same fate.
“We will hit strategic infrastructure of the Houthis and cripple their leadership, as we did with Haniya, Sinwar (Hamas’s ally) and Nasrallah (Hezbollah’s ally) in Tehran, Gaza and Lebanon,” he said. Katz at an event at the Israeli Defense Ministry.
This is the first public admission that Israel is behind the assassination of Haniya in the Iranian capital.
