Starbucks said that around 170 stores did not open as planned this Tuesday, the 24th, due to an employee strike.
The Starbucks Workers United union reported that the five days of picketing will end today, after affecting hundreds of coffee shops in 45 US states since last Friday (20).
Starbucks Workers United stated this Christmas Eve that baristas will return to work on Wednesday and Thursday (25th and 26th) and will organize in the coming days.
Starbucks commented that it will continue negotiations when the union returns to the negotiating table. Both hope to reach an agreement on terms of contact by the end of this year.
At 1:25 pm (Brasília time), the coffee shop chain’s shares rose 2.06%.
