After months of speculation and twists and turns, the councilor was unanimously chosen as a candidate for the City Council of . The definition was made at a meeting of the party’s municipal directory this Thursday (26).
The party reached an agreement with the mayor’s base parties () according to which it will have their support to command the municipal Legislature for the next four years. As a result, Teixeira should be elected by his peers as the successor to Milton Leite (União) on January 1st.
Before the municipal elections, the favorite to compete for the position was the councilor. However, he decided to support (PRTB) against Nunes, who then vetoed him in the dispute.
Leite even considered the candidacy of , his former chief of staff, but some of the councilors criticized the possibility that a colleague recently elected for his first term would take over the House.
With that, Teixeira became the favorite. He will begin his seventh term and has already been secretary of the Subprefectures, Green and Traffic. More recently, he campaigned as the “father” of the Blue Belt for motorcycles, a program that was implemented during his participation in the Nunes administration.
