The President-elect of the United States, Donald Trumpstated that Bill Gatesco-founder of Microsoft, asked to visit him at his home, in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, on Friday night (27).
In web post Truth Socialthe Republican made reference to his home: “Bill Gates asked to come here tonight. We miss you and X! New Year’s Eve will be amazing!!!”

Gates has been critical of Trump in the past, particularly over the way his first administration handled the Covid-19 pandemic, but publicly congratulated the politician on his election victory in November this year, expressing hope that the two can work together.
Some of the largest US technology companies have pledged to make donations to Trump’s inauguration fund – an attempt to seek better relations with the Republican before he takes office on January 20, 2025.
In November, Mark Zuckerberg, chief executive of Meta Platforms, also visited Trump at Mar-a-Lago. Meta donated $1 million to the inauguration fund, a company spokesperson told Reuters.
Other technology companies donating $1 million to the fund include Amazon and Uber Technologies.
