After being arrested in 2017, 2018 and 2021, Rúben Semedo is in trouble again. This time, in Portugal, for domestic violence.
Rúben Semedocurrent player for Al-Khor in Qatar, was detained early this Sunday on suspicion of domestic violence.
According to , the Portuguese international will have attacked, threatened and kidnapped his partner at home.
The same newspaper details that the episode happened on Saturday night and that the victim later managed to escape by his own means.
“Terrified” and with bruisesthe woman went to the police to file a complaint against the 30-year-old player, who ended up detained by PSP investigators from Vila Franca de Xira, around 3am this Sunday; while the victim was hospitalized.
According to the CM, Rúben Semedo will continue to be detained at the PSP Metropolitan Command station in Lisbon, in Moscavide and will be brought to court this Monday.

Rúben Semedo already has a extensive arrest history.
In November 2017, the then Villarreal player was arrested in Valencia for threatening and attacking a man near a nightclub. But a month earlier, Rúben Semedo had already been involved in another incident in the parking lot of a nightclub, where he allegedly attacked a young man in the head with a glass bottle.
Three months later, in , the player training at Sporting was accused of attempted murder, robbery, assault, kidnapping and illegal possession of weapons. The plaintiff stated, at the time, that Rúben Semedo and two other men tied him up and attacked him, and then went to his apartment, with his keys, to give him steal money.
The Portuguese defender was five months in pre-trial detention.
In , in Greece (when he played for Olympiacos), Rúben Semedo was arrested on suspicion of rape of a 17-year-old girl.
