A 13-year-old teenager drowned this Wednesday morning (1st), on Brejatuba beach, behind Morro do Cristo, in Guaratuba, on the coast of Paraná. The Fire Department was called at around 6:45 am to respond to the incident.

According to the Fire Department, people who were at the scene performed first aid while calling the firefighters by calling 193.

In response, the Beach Officer, the Task Force and an ambulance were moved from Matinhos. Furthermore, the Falcão 08 helicopter from the Air Operations Military Police Battalion (BPMOA) was mobilized for support.
The aircraft was in Paranaguá for medical removal and, after completing the treatment, it continued to Guaratuba. At the scene, the victim was in moderate condition, which required intubation while still in the sand to enable air transport.
The teenager was taken to the Hospital Regional do Litoral, in Paranaguá, by the BPMOA helicopter. No updates have been released on the victim’s health status at this time.
