Ordinance excludes thermoelectric projects that use fuels such as mineral coal, diesel oil or fuel oil
The federal government, through , signed the ordinance that establishes the guidelines for the reserve auction for contracting electrical power. The text was published this Thursday (2.Jan.2025) in the DOU (Official Gazette of the Union). Here is it (PDF – 187kB).
Promoted by Aneel (National Electric Energy Agency), the auction aims to contract centrally dispatchable generation sources. The event was scheduled for June 27, 2025.
According to the text, CRCAPs (Capacity Reserve Power Contracts) will be negotiated with supply terms varying from 7 to 15 years, depending on the type of product. The auction will include thermoelectric power products from existing natural gas projects, without operational inflexibility, and from new gas and biofuel projects.
In addition, the Hydroelectric Power Product 2030 will be included, aimed at projects to expand the installed capacity of existing hydroelectric plants. The ordinance excludes thermoelectric projects that use fuels such as mineral coal, diesel oil or fuel oil.
Remuneration will be based on the availability of contracted power, with Fixed Revenue paid in 12 monthly installments, adjusted according to operational performance.
