Until when is the exemption from early repayment fees on housing loans in effect?

A DECO INFORMS…

DECO, although it appreciates the decision to maintain the exemption from early repayment fees on permanent real estate credit, on a variable rate basis, until the end of 2025, it considers that it is not enough for consumers.

Despite being only temporary in variable rate credits, and not reduced in fixed rate credits, this decision benefits consumers who have ongoing real estate credit contracts, allowing them to be repaid, whenever possible, partially or completely.

These repayments make it possible to reduce your debt or transfer your loans to offers with better conditions. The housing credit market also benefits from this exemption as it promotes greater competition between credit institutions.

The prohibition of charging fees eliminates, albeit temporarily, an additional cost that serves as a barrier to the mobility of customers of those credits.

DECO asks that the rules be clarified regarding when the exemption applies, so that the recent doubt about whether it is the date of the request or the date of the benefit review is not repeated.

DECO remains firm in its to definitively eliminate this commission on variable rate credits, in which the interest rate risk is passed on to the customer, as well as reducing it to 0.5% (instead of 2%) for fixed rate credits.
