The spokeswoman for the Bratislava airport, Veronika Demovičová, stated this for TASR in connection with the current weather conditions. She added, however, that the arrival of the line from London-Stansted airport was delayed due to the weather over Great Britain. “It also affected the subsequent departure,” she added.
The Railways of the Slovak Republic (ŽSR) have not yet registered major problems on the tracks. “However, due to the weather and the formation of ice, we expect the situation to worsen,” ŽSR spokeswoman Petra Lániková informed TASR.
The spokesman of the Slovakian Railway Company (ZSSK), Dominik Drewický, also announced that the weather has not yet caused a significant number of train delays. ZSSK is currently reporting on the social network the delay of the passenger train from Nitra to Topoľčiany, which is more than 40 minutes late from Koniarovce station due to the weather, as well as the delay of the regional express between Bratislava-Nové mesto station and Nitra, which from Lužianky station has a half-hour delay due to the weather.
