Possible signing of the former São Paulo player would be a response from the Argentine club to fans due to shyness in the current transfer window
After a frustrating spell at São Paulo, another career at another club could come to a lackluster end. The Colombian player’s future is uncertain at Rayo Vallecano, and could appear in Argentine football in the coming days. James had been announced by the Spanish club at the end of August, after wearing the São Paulo shirt. In the European team, the midfielder also failed to establish himself. For Rayo Vallecano, there were just seven matches, with no goals scored and just one assist.
Termination of the contract with the Spanish team is not ruled out. According to the Argentine newspaper Olé, the team is already targeting the signing of James Rodríguez for the current season. Boca coach Fernando Gago prioritizes the arrival of a left-footed midfielder at the Argentine club. In this scenario, James Rodríguez entered the Buenos Aires team’s radar. According to Olé, the possible signing of James would be a response from Boca, who have been timid in the current transfer window.
The newspaper also highlights that Boca Juniors could offer James Rodríguez a leading role in this year’s Copa Libertadores and Club World Cup disputes. In mid-November, James was with the Colombian team at the Boca Juniors CT. The player even received an Argentine team shirt and posed for photos holding the uniform. At the time, Mauricio Serna, Boca manager, said it would be “a dream” to have James Rodríguez in the Argentine team.
