Trump secretary recites prayer from “Pulp Fiction” during service

Pete Hegseth read a false biblical passage from Tarantino’s film during a religious meeting with military personnel at the Pentagon

United States Secretary of War Pete Hegseth recited an adaptation of a false biblical excerpt from the film “Pulp Fiction”by Quentin Tarantino, during a religious service at the Pentagon. The episode took place on Wednesday (April 15, 2026), at a monthly meeting held in the auditorium of the military building.

During the service, Hegseth presented what he called a prayer. The secretary said he received the text from a soldier on a mission in the war in Iran and stated that military crews used the excerpt before combat search and rescue operations.

Hegseth identified the text as “CSAR 25:17.” “They call it CSAR 25:17, which I think is intended to reflect Ezekiel 25:17.”he stated before reading the prayer.

“The path of the downed airman is hemmed in on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of comradeship and duty, guides the lost through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon you with great vengeance and furious wrath those who attempt to capture and destroy my brother. And you will know that my code name is Sandy One when I exercise my revenge on you. Amen”, recited the secretary.

Watch the moment (1min51s):

No “Pulp Fiction”, the character Jules Winnfield, played by Samuel L. Jackson, recites the prayer before shooting a criminal.

“The path of the righteous man is hemmed in on all sides by the injustices of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, guides the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon you with great vengeance and furious wrath those who try to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know that my name is the Lord when I exact my vengeance upon you,” says the text of Quentin Tarantino’s film.

The book of the prophet Ezekiel presents the following text: “And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes: and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I execute my vengeance upon them.”

TRUMP X PAPA

The repercussion comes at a time when President Donald Trump (Republican Party) is publicly criticizing Pope Leo the 14th. The raids are marked by criticism of the pontiff’s actions on international issues and by the religious leader’s defense of a mission centered on faith and the promotion of peace.

The republican’s statements are part of a rhetorical escalation in which he classified the pope as ““ and questioned his conduct of foreign policy, in addition to criticizing positions related to conflicts and international security.

In response, Leão 14 avoided direct confrontation and reinforced that he does not act as a political agent. He highlighted that his message remains based on the Gospel, on dialogue between peoples and on the search for peaceful solutions.

Elected in 2025, the pontiff is the first North American pope, a factor that increases the political repercussion of his speeches and intensifies tension with the United States government.
