Judge Saul Steil, from the Court of Justice of , declared his suspicion this Tuesday (7) to judge a case involving the businessman and owner of the Havan chain of stores, . This is about making that decision.
Steil and at least ten other magistrates from the Santa Catarina State Court attended a dinner organized by Hang in a historic property he owns in Brusque (SC), on December 16.
In the decision, Steil justifies “intimate reasons” when declaring his suspicion and determines the redistribution of the process.
The first rapporteur was judge Haidée Denise Grin, who withdrew the case after her participation in the dinner was unsuccessful.
The case was passed on to judge André Carvalho, who was also at the event with Hang. On December 20, he also declared his suspicion to judge the action, which subsequently fell into the hands of Steil.
The appeal pending before the TJ was filed by the defense of professor Guilherme Howes Neto, resident of Santa Maria (RS), who was forced last year to pay R$20,000 to Hang as moral damages.
The conviction occurred due to posts on social networks considered defamatory and offensive by the businessman.
The decision in the State Court against Neto was made by judge Gilberto Gomes de Oliveira Junior, from the 1st Civil Court of Brusque (SC). He is the son of judge Gilberto Gomes de Oliveira, who was also present at the dinner.
