The event program is rich in symbolism and memory. Among the highlights is the presentation of a 17th century clock and the painting “As Mulatas”, by Di Cavalcanti, both damaged during the events of January 8th. Additionally, speeches by authorities, including President Lula and First Lady Janja, are scheduled.
After the speeches, President Lula will walk down the Planalto Palace ramp to give a symbolic embrace of Brazilian democracy, accompanied by several authorities. With the participation of around a thousand people, the expectation is that this moment will take place without the presence of bars separating the president from the population. This event also marks two years since the invasions of the headquarters of the Three Powers in Brasília, a critical moment in the country’s recent history.
